A beautiful and winding 10-minute drive from Nashville will lead you up a hill to an historic old farmhouse that’s been in the same family for over 100 years! Catalpa Tree House is named for the numerous catalpa trees on the property, and is still part of a working farm. The great-granddaughter of the original owners (along with her husband & their son) are the owners, and live on the ground floor of the renovated farmhouse. As guests of Catalpa Tree House, you will have your own private entrance to the cute and quaint 1-bedroom
apartment via a set of sturdy wooden steps, and a great deck offering a bird’s eye view of the
farm and the village of Helmsburg.
Decorated in a colorful bohemian style, Catalpa Tree House is both fun and relaxing.
A comfy sofa in the living room and a couple of chairs are cozy spots to watch the offerings of DirecTV stations, or reading the latest novel.
The kitchen is complete with all cookware and dishes you’ll need for meals, so you need only to bring your favorite munchies and drinks.
The restful bedroom has a lovely vintage walnut queen-size
(plus a queen-sized air mattress)
and plenty of pillows and linens for your sleeping comfort. Additional indoor amenities include a
with linens, as well as a high-efficiency washer/dryer in the laundry room.
Out on the deck you’ll find the
hot tub’s steamy bubbles work wonders on achy joints, so be sure to give it a go.
Watch the cute farm goats romp around their pasture as you tend burgers on the charcoal grill,
or compare how the farmer’s summer garden is growing.
Lake Lemon is only minutes away, if you decide to bring along the tackle box and poles, or you may prefer to pack a picnic lunch and just enjoy the beach there.
If you need beer or ice, there’s a handy little convenience store within walking distance right there in Helmsburg…although bigger grocery stores can be found in Bean Blossom (2 miles), or Nashville (7 miles). Bean Blossom is the site of several music festivals throughout the year…and you’re going to be very close…so if you’re a fan, be sure to check it out! Plum Creek Antiques is another cool place (open on weekends), and is also in Bean Blossom. Nashville’s many shops, galleries, and restaurants are always fun, too. Indiana University is a short 30-minute drive, so Catalpa Tree House is handy for those attending games and events.
Clean, quiet, comfortable, and economical…that’s Catalpa Tree House!
Colorful accents make this a fun and "funk-ified" place to stay!
