The LAKE HOUSE
The Lake House, a contemporary, immaculate, upscale getaway cottage located in Hoosier National Forest, is situated on a secluded bluff overlooking the protected watershed of beautiful Lake Monroe. The cottage has three separate decks, all with great views of the lake and abundant opportunities to spot eagle nesting grounds, herons and waterfowl . A short hike down to the lake offers paddle boating (2 provided), canoeing (1provided) and splendid kayaking venues (bring your own). Explore the four wooded acres that surround the cottage or take a leisurely stroll in either direction along the lake or on the picturesque country gravel road. Bring your gear for fishing along the bank or from the paddle boats (Indiana fishing license required). The Lake House has a main floor with family room and complete kitchen separated from a living room, full sized futon bedroom, half bath and two viewing decks, one covered. The cozy upstairs loft offers a king size bed, full bathroom with shower, reading nook with futon and its own private balcony. Watch a beautiful Brown County sunset and relax to the sound of silence. Or enjoy one of the many board games provided or your favorite Satellite TV stations and, DVD’s in the living room or comfort of the loft bedroom. The Lake House is centrally located. It is just 15 miles from Bloomington Indiana’s most vibrant arts, culture and dining community as well as Brown County, The cottage is just a short 15 mile drive to Nashville with its quaint shops and restaurants. You can even launch your power boat at the Salt Creek boat ramp located just 5 miles away and moor it in front of the cottage (Pull through parking at The Lake House makes trailering your boat a breeze). Or visit the T.C. Steele State Historic Site, studio of the famous 19th century impressionist painter, or the many artist studios of the famous Brown County Art Colony. The Lake House is a short 10 miles from Brown County State Park Indiana’s largest with playgrounds, swimming pools, tennis courts, hiking and mountain bike trails. Even closer, nearby Yellowwood State Forest offers back country hiking, picnicking and canoeing. Horseback riding is available at nearby Schooner Valley Stables as well as Brown County State Park. The Lake House is your place to relax, reflect and reconnect with nature. You won’t be disappointed.
