How Moonstraka came to be: We asked the owner how he came up with such a unique name as "Moonstraka", and this is what he had to say: "Moonstraka is half English and half Danish. My Family's linage is from Sweden and Denmark. It all started when I was building the house myself by hand. It took 3 ½ years to complete and during that time I lived in a tiny 20' trailer at the bottom of the hill. During the winter months, I would be awakened in the middle of the night by the moon as it rose across the field above the tree line. With the fresh snow on the ground, it was breathtaking. It was so bright you could actually read a newspaper at night! I was "Struck" by the awesome beauty of it, and therefore the name Moonstraka, "Moon Struck" was born. |
