Woodland CastleVery secluded and quiet, Woodland Castle is an ideal location to channel your ‘inner nature geek’. It is a spacious cabin where your family and friends can spread out to enjoy some solitude and many outdoor adventures , such as cornhole, horseshoes, and a fire pit with plenty of seating for gathering around the campfire every evening. Lots of wildflowers and perennials, alongside hiking paths through the woods offer opportunities for explorers to examine the native habitat of woodland wildlife. A nice hot tub will bubble away the tired muscles of those who ventured around the 10-acre property.
If you are visiting in the colder months, you’ll likely want to enjoy the toasty comfort of a fire in the fireplace insert in the living room. If you’re here in the warmer months, then a nice big porch off the living room is a perfect spot to watch butterflies and birds visit the nearby beds of blooming flowers.
Indoor amenities on the main level include a large kitchen, dining area, & living room, as well as a master suite, with queen bed, and private bath. The kitchen has a side-by-side fridge and plenty of counter space for laying out a buffet of your gang’s favorite foods, while a dishwasher allows you to spend more time relaxing.
Climb the stairs for indoor sporting pursuits, such as foosball, pool, or Ping Pong. to an upper level deck is just off the game room, and overlooks the woods beyond. There are additional bedrooms on this upper level, too. One bedroom with a queen bed shares a half-bath with the game room. A master suite is decorated with beautiful bird prints by local wildlife artist, the late Bill Zimmerman, and has a comfy king-size bed and jacuzzi tub. A TV in the bedroom will provide low-key entertainment when one wishes to engage in more leisurely activities like watching movies.
Although Woodland Castle is secluded, it’s not far from other entertainment options, such as Bill Monroe Bluegrass Campground & Museum, The Flower & Herb Barn, The Farmhouse Café, Greg Schatz Pottery Studio, and Plum Creek Antiques. If you need groceries, McDonald’s Shopworth is just a short drive away in Bean Blossom. The fishermen in your group will enjoy a day of baiting hooks and swapping stories on nearby Lake Lemon.
