“My favorite place to drink my coffee is on the rockers on the front porch.”

The owner says one of her favorite things about being at the cabin is simply watching for deer in the morning and listening to the incredible number of birds around the property.

When the Weather Turns Cool, Head Inside

Porch mornings may be hard to beat, but cooler Brown County days have their own appeal.

The owner’s favorite indoor spot?

The couch.

One favorite is Hard Truth Distilling Co.

Her recommendations?

The corn chowder and the cinnamon vodka cream on dessert.

And then there is the rye whiskey.

In her words:

“The rye whisky will take your breath away—literally.”

We’ll consider that both a recommendation and fair warning.

Hard Truth is a favorite stop for many Brown County visitors, offering food, cocktails, spirits, and a scenic setting that makes it easy to spend a little extra time there.

And when something sweet and caffeinated sounds better?

The owner’s philosophy is wonderfully straightforward:

“Affogato from The Mug is always a good idea.”

We have a difficult time arguing with that logic.

Sometimes the Best Vacation Plan Is No Plan

Perhaps our favorite answer, though, came when the owner described what A Sunset Getaway really is to her:

“It’s a chill-out cabin for sure.”

That may be the best description of the property.

Brown County offers hiking, shopping, restaurants, galleries, entertainment, and plenty of places to explore. But you do not necessarily need to fill every hour of your trip.

Sometimes vacation should mean putting on a favorite movie, curling up on the couch, and staying there.

For this owner, apparently that means watching The Devil Wears Prada.
